sql-pass-tame-the-data-monster

Abstract

As part of the in-memory OLTP engine, Microsoft has introduced two new index types – the non-clustered hash and range index. Both indexes are fundamentally different from the on-disk indexes, and both indexes serve a different purpose. In this session (Level 300), we will look at the two in-memory index types to understand how they are constructed and when the non-clustered hash index is preferable to the range index, and vice versa.
