tue20oct2:50 PM3:30 PMI will speak at SQL DaysIn-memory OLTP - non clustered vs. hash index in Microsoft SQL Server2:50 PM - 3:30 PM CEST Erdinger Stadthallen GmbH, Alois-Schießl-Platz 1, 85435 Erding, Germany

As part of the in-memory OLTP engine, Microsoft has introduced two new index types – the non-clustered hash and range index. Both indexes are fundamentally different from the on-disk indexes, and both indexes serve a different purpose. In this session (Level 300), we will look at the two in-memory index types to understand how they are constructed and when the non-clustered hash index is preferable to the range index, and vice versa.
