Abstract
In this session, we will explore the design principles of the in-memory OLTP engine. We will see how the in-memory engine optimizes data storage for main memory, eliminates latches and locks, and uses native compilation to reduce CPU overhead. After comparing the traditional on-disk engine with the in-memory engine, we can then decide when it makes sense to use in-memory OLTP.
